Yeah, webbing then leather.
No need for pastes powders and potions. I don't think leather conditioner is really necessary either, give the leather a good rub down with your hand before each use and the strop should give you many years of happy use.
AFDavis' videos on the front page might be worth a watch if you've not done so already:

Also, if it came shave ready it's probably an idea to shave with it before putting it near a strop. Poor stropping can quickly degrade an edge, in my experience when learning less is more - once you've got your technique down you can strop all day long.

Thanked: 161. Webbing side first, then leather. You'll have to develop your own stropping routine but 30 webbing and 60 leather is a good routine to start with.
2. No paste on this strop. Later on, as you progress, you may want to use pastes to touch up or refresh a blade that is starting to pull. Pastes generally work best on cotton, felt or leather. At that point a dedicated hanging or paddle strop for the pastes may be in order.
3. Leather conditioner is unnecessary and may be detrimental. Just rub your strop with the palm of your hand before you use it and the natural oils from your hand will condition the leather.Last edited by TheLegalRazor; 08-05-2012 at 09:18 PM.

Welcome to the forum Joe. Take your time and read as much of the information here on stropping before you begin.
Continue to ask any questions you have and we all hope you enjoy wet shaving. There are several beginner strops available
in the market which may be a good place to start and become comfortable with stropping before you move to your SRD Premium strop (nice choice by the way). Enjoy.Bob

Welcome to srp .
Best way to save your strop is to make one the same size from one sheet of newspaper. Add a bulldog clip to hang it & practice away. Move to your real one when you feel confident. The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.
