A BBW as Strop hardware
Hi Folks!
Photos of a seldom seen strop cap are shown as an addition to the "Quality of BBW for Honing" long term threads and specifically to the strop Forum. It was given to me by a friend and I am posting these photos of a 2½" / 60mm strop cap from who knows when. Among the things on my to do list is giving it some riding breeches. It appears to have been used for quite a period of time. I haven't gotten it lapped completely flat yet.
Enjoy the possibilities!

I finally got to the Strop-hone . A length of veg tanned belly leather I found at Tandy a year ago for $5 and some putzing this week made it happen. The strop is great even though the leather looks hard. Gum Dragon sealed and finished the edges. It is longer than my other strops by the length of the cap. It performed well on a couple razors of which I knew the edges well!
Hope it gives you folks some ideas!

Very cool. Unique.
Enjoy it

Very nice looking. I would like to see how you use the BBW in action like that.
Shaving with facial hair is like a golfcourse. It's a challenge of rough and fairways. You are the skilled greenskeeper of your face?

Good question!
I often use a completely dry Coticule, barber hone, or Thuri for touching up a razor that pulls. So I am not worried about a bit of moisture which will not be near the strop. Dry is sometimes better than wet with slurry! Ooops!:
