Default English Bridle not slice proof

    D@#%!!!!!!!!

I don't know where my mind was wandering but I just sliced my 2 year old 3" english bridle. I wish it were my arm. Oh well! $50 for a replacement strap plus shipping. I have another strop, an old Illinois model, that will do in the mean time but it could never replace the other.

You going to lost pics in the "Cut of the Day" thread along with all the other wounds?

    Sorry for your loss.

Yea they sure aren't slice proof. Found that out at the start. I guess depending on the severity of the slice they can be repaired. There are some threads on how to repair a strop floating around here. They helped me repair mine and it is still going strong.

I feel your pain, cousin. I have a 3" English Bridle from Star Shaving and what I have done to that strop borders on criminal. I'm just not very coordinated, I guess. One thing I have picked up just in the last week is that I was standing in the wrong position while stropping. I stood behind it and could never get the razor flipped back in forth without moving my wrists. The last week I have stood perpendicular to the strop and have done much better. It's one of those subtle things I didn't notice until a couple of days ago. I concentrated so hard the past two years on flipping the razor that I didn't pay attention to where I was standing while stropping.
