    Default Strop Question and Recommendation

    Can you experienced gents give me 2 - 5 or so strop recommendations for both hanging and paddle strops?
    Also the strop I have now has chromium oxide green compound on the fabric side and clean fabric side and a smooth leather side. Is this sufficient for use or should I buy multiple strops and put it both green and white pastes on the fabric and have a clean fabric side? Should I apply any pastes to the smooth leather? I know this is wordy, but thank you in advance!

    Well, for the first few years of straight shaving I used a single hanging latigo leather strop by Tony Miller. I have only just added a piece of linen to it, and have never used any pastes on either leather or fabric, just using hand rubbing to condition the leather. So for me your question as to whether leather + fabric + CrOx is 'sufficient' could be answered by a resounding yes.

    Do you need more strops? No.

    Do you want more strops? Only you can answer that!

    It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
    This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.
