Thanked: 3164These used to be a very common type of strop on the continent - the type is known as a 'loom' strop. They are very good IMO, and very handy to travel with. When you twist the handle, the frame expands lengthways and tightens the leather, so you can 'dial-in' the tautness. You must remember to loosen it off again after use, else the leather will stretch, sometimes developing cupping at the sides. The green side is for touching up - maybe 10 laps or so when the razor feels a little below par, but you would not use the green size everyday - maybe a couple of times a month.
Regards,
Neil

Thanked: 10These are rebranded and sold by a number of companies including Dovo and Jemico. I have one of the Jemico-branded strops, and it's great.

I have one and like it but not as a everyday strop. I use it as a travel strop.
