Got my Kohl & Laibach (aka "Herold" cowhide strop from the Superior Shave)
Just received from Jarrod at The Superior Shave my first Nice strop.
It is a Kohl & Laibach (aka "Herold") cowhide strop.
Now i still am by far not a pro at this straight business but i am progressing quite nicely after 2 months and getting BBS shaves quite often.
After my beginners strops which i did manage to mangle a little just like you guys said,i decided to get a better one.
I opted for a 3 inch wide one as to see the difference between x strokes and not.
But i guess it comes natural now and i still use x strokes but much better on a wide strop.
(This baby is even a little wider than 3 inches)
For me,as i had a pretty cheap one, this thing is like night and day.
After i rubbed it with my palm for a bit stropping on this was a pleasure.
I don't now if it was psychological or not but i could cut hair standing up on my arm just as the day i got my straight after it was honed for me.
I decided on getting this strop as shipping charges to Canada sometimes are equal to the half the price of a strop and Jarrod has free shipping worldwide.
It cost me 53 dollars and seems to be well worth it.
It makes such a nice sound that you think it is actually sharpening it.
The only strop i can compare it with is an Illinois strop that my friend has and this one is harder and stiffer leather not as soft or delicate as his.
I opted for the oil-tanned Russian leather which is gorgeous.
The only thing there is no linen or fabric side to it.
My next purchase is from what you guys say a Tony miller strop but for me 25 to 30 bucks shipping is something to think about.

You are welcome.
Now i am not a pro so i can't give major feedback but i wanted a nice 3 inch wide strop with good leather and for the price i couldn't get anything that cheap shipped to me in Canada.
Straight razor designs has amazing Strops as well but shipping cost is almost the price of another strop.*****HAVE A GREAT SHAVE*****

Thanked: 16I saw these at the The Superior Shave website and they look very nice. I understand they're comparable to the Dovos but cost significantly less. Jarrod is an outstanding vendor and you got yourself an excellent strop at a great price.
