    I've a 3" Russian Dovo which is stained as a stained thing here and there. It was like that when I bought it off a guy. Being sueded of sorts, I was concerned, but it has not effected the draw or even the feel. I would imagine a steer hide would be even more resilient, so you'll be cool. Happy stropping.

    The TM premium steerhide is prone to water stains. If you even touch it with wet fingers it will stain. This is a purely cosmetic issue which will not affect the functioning of the strop.

    As a kid, I remember my barber lathering the hairline behind my ears. Then he would wet his hand and shake several droplets onto his strop. What followed was several of the most aggressive strokes you can imagine. I sat very, very still as he used that blade so close to my neck.
