CSI
Did anyone else watch CSI last night and cringe when Hodges was ruining that beautiful blade by turning in the edge while stropping it?

I did not see it, but don't you find it interesting that we (real straight razor shavers) notice all the shaving flaws in movies and tv shows. I know there are quite a few episodes of M*A*S*H where the guys are using straights and I always cringe when I see their "technique"

That's not "too bad", usually the one stropping appears to be having a grand mal seizure' arm flailing about slicing and dicing with the strop either bowed down or tight as a drum. It's painful to watch
Mastering implies there is nothing more for you to learn of something... I prefer proficient enough to not totally screw it up.

I have watched only a bit of CSI, and by far the most cringeworthy part are the horrible, horrible colour filters. The lousy scripts come in close second though.
On the other hand, CSI: Miami has an aged David Caruso in a painful amount of make-up spouting classical one-liners, though.

Don't worry about the blades they are all theatrical props with no real edges.

Or in the star trek movie when troi is giving riker a straight shave with the blade at 90 degrees to his face, ouch

Yes, her shaving was horrible. But I've said it before and I'll day it again. Taking a bath with Marina Sirtis? Who cares how she shaves?
