    The strops in this picture belonged to my Grandfather many years ago.
    The triangular wooden blocks under the leather were wedged in there pretty tight but could be removed. I found some cardboard shims under one of them when I looked.
    I've actually restored them since I took this photo, but dont really use them, just thought you guys might be interested.

    Now there’s an idea, put the blocks in after fastening the leather and either shim the blocks or make a couple of slightly larger ones for later.

    Just saw one of those in an antique store yesterday, thanks Baldy.
