I have a 2.5" Cowhide and Felt strop, it was my first strop. I tried to replace it last year after 2 yrs. of use (several beginner decorations on it aka cuts), and bought a 3" Latigo with webbing that was a lot nicer looking! I still use the old one 99.9% of the time. The cowhide gave me feed back and had a little drag to it. The new strop didn't even have after a decent amount of use any drag to it that I cared for. Plus 3" is to wide and not for me, I like running the blade at an angle not straight back and forth, it just didn't feel natural. Sometimes you have to be happy with what you have and sometimes you just need to find out for yourself.

Quit using my old 2 1/2 strop. Love the 3 inches. Makes stropping a lot easier.
