    Default Questions about chromium oxide

    Hey all,

Can someone tell me if you can apply chromium oxide to a hanging leather strop.
If I should get the powder .5 micron and how much water to mix
How should I apply it to the strop.
    Oh and where to purchase

    Thanks guys... Love this place!

Whipped dog can supply crox and iron oxide powder. SRD can provide crox in a variety of forms.

Can I paste it on an old hanging strop. Does it have to be a hard surface?

Sorry but I was in a hurry and forgot to say that the Photo tutorial was almost exactly what you seem to be doing. But you figured it out for your self. I got a poor man strop kit from whipped dog and have used that try the crox and iron oxide.

Can you tell me how often I need to paste the strop. Does it need to be reapplied often?

If you are only maintaining your own razors and using for touch ups and or to finish honing it will be years before you will need to re paste the strop.

I use paste for much more and use it far more then a lot people and I normally only re paste mine once a year.
