I have it on a sued type buckskin paddle strop homemade;
I like it more than the diamond spray (have not touched it since I tried this).
The sued buck skin holds and works like the linen,
I just quit buying linen as I hunt and tan the hides so it is more or less free, just a labor of love.

I have the 8oz bottle. The chromeox is quality, but the pump on the bottle sucks. Pump, pull the sprayer back up, pump, pull it up, and if you dont keep it from tilting it will leak.
Mastering implies there is nothing more for you to learn of something... I prefer proficient enough to not totally screw it up.

It works fine. I personally like the crayon on the webbed, but that's just me. I hope you,re using "linen" generically, i.e. web, premium fabric, pressed wool, etc. Real linen is such a great fabric that I don't think I could bring myself to put CrO on it. I only have one strop with real linen, Neil Miller shell cordovan, and the linen is just excellent.
Enjoy, have fun!!

Edit: add video.
Here's a video by Lynn spraying diamond on pressed wool for the paddle strop. Same process for hanging. Don't over wet the wool or it will wrinkle. Did it once and never could repair the wool.
