    I usually just do leather after honing. Sometimes linen/leather. Always linen leather between shaves. I don't mess with paste much. Once in a blue moon. I've got a $500 escher. Following that with $5.00 worth of paste doesn't compute for me.

    Yep between shaves I always do linen leather. The only time that I use sprays and pastes is directly after honing as I have heard that that smooths the edge a bit more. Also to freshen up a razor after a couple of months of use but like I said im a newb so everything is all trial and error for me, but for me, that's part of the fun of this thing of ours!

    Well, if you have another $500 Escher to give away I would gladly stop using pastes.
