I once bought an old strop that smelled like something that's been dead for a while, it didn't even burn well!

I have a vintage strop coming in soon, and depending on how dry it is, I'm going to try using glycerin and see how that goes.

I have used 100% ecological coconut fat on a couple of vintage strops with great results.

Coconut oil has a very very long shelf life and is an excellent skin moisturizer, so I am not surprised it works well on strops. I use it everyday myself for cooking, so I must try it on one of my strop one of these days.

I wonder how Obenhauf's leather preservative would serve as a strop treatment. It does wonders for my boots and my hands.
