Hi all
I live in South Africa and some shaving stuff is not that easy to find here and one of them are good quality/size strops.

We're looking at about 70$ US as the Cost of a strop. While I don't have a strop from either maker, their reputations are good and price seems fair. I would go with the Muhle just because its slightly larger.
Once you have a strop, I'm sure that if you took it to a local shoe repair, or Leather crafts person they could duplicate it in other leathers if you want a second.

Thanked: 3225They appear to be reputable strops. Personally I would try to find a 3 inch/7.5 cm wide strop, if possible, to avoid having to learn how to do an X stroke while learning to strop. Just one less thing to learn and makes it easier.
Another alternative is to go to a horse tack shop and get a piece of bridle leather of suitable size and make your own. They also may have the hardware too, D rings, Chicago screws and leather punch. A site search should bring up some threads on how to make your own strop.
