Heirloom Strop arrived!
And what a thing! It is officially the greatest "shaving thing" I own! It looks and feels like it will be around long after I am gone. Not only is it a thing of beauty, but after using it to strop my razor (30 canvas 30 leather) I got the smoothest shave I've ever had. My vintage Anton Wingen, Jr. OTHELLO really liked the strop. I had been using both the "beginner" strop from The Whipped Dog (which I liked a lot) and a Fromm leather/linen combo which I liked the least, but mostly because I nicked the hell out of it. If you're thinking about it, don't wait! It's money well spent!

Here you go!
Sorry it took so long! Life and such...
This first one is so you can compare to the Amazon acquired Fromm strop. Not a bad strop, just I prefer the longer and wider Heirloom. That's not the leather, but the linen which is all that remains of that original strop. It was 30 bucks and IMO a little overpriced for what I got. It's there for a comparison in size and construction.
Here's a closeup of the handle compared to the Fromm strop: big difference!
And this is a closeup of the hook. All the material used are second to none!
Here's one of my razor on the strop. No more x pattern for me! I never liked it because I always feel I'm not putting equal pressure on the whole blade. Still happens with this, but that's me, not the strop's fault.
Close up of the handle construction. Three thick slabs of leather!
That's it!

Mannye, good show, my friend. That is a handsome strop. I have the 2.5 version and love it.

Cannot go wrong with a Tony Miller strop. Good to see he still is in the business
