Elk or Deer leather good for strop?
Hello friends!
Does any one knows if these two leathers are good for a strop?

As long as it was. Thick enough for a good solid stroke wwith no give... I would think it it to be to thin for a good strop. Cow hide is nice and stiff with plenty of thicknesss. Maybe if you pasted it to a board?

I have never used deer hide but others have. I don't see a reason why not to.

I've had both and they were just fine. Just make sure the piece you use is clean and blemish free.
