Thread: Can a balsa strop remove a wire edge

One of the fire proof strops, fun!
It has been lot of jokes about them but I don't know of anybody actually trying one out, except you.

Hear that sound? Yeah, that's my head beating against a wall.

I'll let you know how it turns out. For $10 (which includes shipping) I thought it was worth a shot.

It sure would be fun to see how good they are!
Maybe you're close to somebody here who can check it out?

I'm in NJ and would gladly buy lunch or dinner for anyone that would spend a hour or so critiquing my techniques and equipment. This site is a great resource but nothing tops in person tutelage.

With a total length of 45 cm, if that is inclusive of the handles and ring at the top, I'd say it is short for my preferences. If it is decent leather and fabric it is probably alright. Dunno for sure without seeing and feeling it.
