    Default Making a balsa strop...

I went ahead and put my balsa together. Letting the wood glue I used to attach it to a base dry today. Is the best thing to use chromium oxide or does the .5 diamond spray work well also? Most of the threads in the forum and the wiki all use chromium oxide. Reason I'm asking is because I already have the spray and I have a free weekend.... Patience and temptation and fighting right now with all this free time.

As I understand it, the diamond spray will work but it will give you a much harsher edge compared to the CrOx which will give smoother results. That having been said, I haven't used them myself, so this isn't from personal experience.

Anyway, I'm sure someone with more experience in using these products will be along soon...

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.
