    Default taping razor spine

I now always tape the back of my razor with masking tape when honing or stropping , I tape past the blade onto the handle to create a straight knife that the handle doesn't flop around when turning over. Any one do this ? I heard this changes the bevel angle but I never noticed and it keeps the blade like new and doesn't wear the pin out

Yes, when honing, but no, when stropping. If the pivot pin is too loose (meaning the razor flops around when trying to strop) then I'd tighten it up with a few taps of a hammer.

Mmm. Sounds like the pin is loose if it's flopping around. There should be no need to tape around the scales to stop them from moving.
