Looks very nice in that hardware/color of ends, Tony. Nice choice.
Soft you say? Sounds like the texture of a Kamayama.Last edited by Gasman; 03-10-2019 at 07:31 PM.

My wife, who helps me with the business actually suggested I go with black on this one to create more contrast than the brown I usually use. I think she was spot on with this combo and as my supply of Fast Bridle runs out (it is no longer made at the tannery) I am going with this exact leather in either the black or a deep, dark chocolate brown as trim on all of my strops.
The softness on these is partly due to the thinness allowing a lot of flexibility along with a medium temper to the leather itself. The Heirloom Razor Strop Company / The Well Shaved Gentleman

Got another batch or Horween Horsehide in this week. Really nice stuff and will also be bringing back my veg tanned, natural horsehide. I have not used that material for probably 7 or 8 years now but Horween sent me some really nice stuff. This leather is very firm and slick. Very low draw.

Something special for April 1st! (A little April Fools Fun)
An April 1st Special Edition !
My super light draw, slightly abrasive "Premium Newsprint" Strop made from Genuine daily newspapers !
The front component is a thin, slightly abrasive, biased and often inaccurate (sometimes even objectionable) selection from the local newspaper. It gives a very light and fast draw but with the pigment used in the ink giving a bonus polishing effect to your razors edge. Since newspapers are a natural products they may have small scars and range marks from the delivery process (throwing) or small stains from breakfast coffee or donuts.
I use only the finest local papers to produce these strops. I try to avoid segments with inaccurate stories, any content at the gutter or below the fold. The standard strop typically consists of the editorial pages but you can request the sports or real estate sections as options. These are available delivered in either morning or evening editions to suit your shave schedule or an optional special Sunday edition featuring the funny pages (+$1.00)
Please note that I use only hand selected pages from the finest newspapers of a major city to ensure the best quality. Do not confuse these strops with similar looking but vastly inferior copies or clones made from cheap convienence store tabloids.
It take more time to do this detail work but is the only proper way to make a quality product.
Thank you for joining along in a little APRIL FOOLS fun !
(While this is not a real product I am offering many have found that newspaper does make a very effective strop as the inks used are slightly abrasive and can indeed enhance an edge)

Tony very good play for the day, the funny thing is though I have used folded newspaper on travel and it’s worked pretty well keeping my razor going

Tony I have used your red latigo for ten years now... finally decided to get another and purchased your horsehide. Very happy with it, and a nice compliment to the heavy-draw latigo... It's also a beautiful piece of leather that looks like it will age well.
I wish I had ordered linen a decade ago (my latigo has the cotton), but at least I have it now!

3" Genuine Flax Linen Is Back !
I was finally able to source 3" Genuine Flax Linen once again. It has been a few years since I was able to offer this and I am glad to have it back. I have updated my storefront to make this an option on any of my 3" Artisan grade strops.
This is a firm, but flexible material with no stretch and a nice herringbone weave. Nice natural woodsy aroma as well ! Genuine linen has a slightly abrasive surface to it and many feel it aids in achieving sharpness over standard cotton webbing.
2" and 2 1/2" genuine Flax Linen is also available.
