Maybe so but at least you keep it on the leather instead of the stitching.

I appreciate the fact that they are doing something to promote straight shaving…It would be nice to see it done correctly however. Not only does he go over the actual stropping surface onto the ends, but 5 or 6 laps???

I think he was touching the ends in an effort to demonstrate in slow motion. Would have been better to not do that, of course.

Done correctly, 5 or 6 laps on the strop is really all that's necessary.

I don't know about you, but if I only do 5 or 6 laps on the strop I may as well just save my time and leave the strop out of the equation. Maybe 50 or 60 laps on leather…but 5 or 6 does virtually nothing.

+1 what Catrentshaving said minimum 70 laps done correctly. " Master Barber" he proclaims, more like "Master Actor" I suspect from the casting cattle call.

Overall thorough video, but I question the small amount of passes on the strop. Just doesn't seem like enough to me. I've only ever saw that in old duster movies.
