Sheffield razor grinding and a shave !
Here's a treat for you Billy Hukin grinding a blade here in Sheffield (1965), others pinning the scales, honing and finally Billy Hukin having a shave (1993) his technique is very different from many of us. No 'fancy' shaving soap just plain old bath soap
The late Ken Hawley talks to Billy as he shaves.

Interesting honing, also that's gonna be hard to stretch the skin with your fingers shaving like that, he does move his face to do so
highly interesting, wish there were more videos like this around
The other videos also seem very interestingLast edited by TristanLudlow; 06-17-2018 at 05:18 PM.

Thanked: 3224Saw that vid on another forum. Yes, interesting and he cuts through the BS surrounding modern shaving with using that boar brush and a bar of soap.

Thanked: 634One of my shaving soaps is a bath bar of Gilchrist & Soames that I got on a Celebrity Cruise. It works just fine with a rich lather.

Thanked: 3224At around 12:16 in the video of Billy shaving he uses a stroke the comes down and sideways at the same time. Like the old Gillette glide stroke I suppose. You have to be pretty competent to use that stroke.
