    Default Source for pins?

I am wondering if there is a commercial source for the sort of pins used to hold scales together, or if you all 'roll your own' from rivets, machining, etc...

    Thanks,
    John

This topic came up a few times in the restoration forum. Here's the short answer...
Pins -- 1/16" brass rod stock, found in any hobby shop that caters to RC car people (generally any good hobby shop)
Washers -- Inside #0W, outside #0, found at www.microfasteners.com, generally brass.
Using a 0.5lb ballpeen hammer and a small anvil (I got my 11lb for $8.00CDN) help make the job easier.

By the way this is by no means the only way to pin scales on a razor, but it's the easiest way to start.
