    Default J.R. Dodges light restoration.

I picked up this fabulous razor at an Antique store the other day. It is at great 6/8 J.R. Dodges, Sheffield razor from 1850-1890 according to the info I could find here. Off cause any info will be greatly appreciated.

It's a massive knife. It was filled with rust and pitting all over the blade. I took a light restoration because of the engraving on the blade. There is a crown, and a text saying J.R. Dodges.

The razor is extremely masculine, and this is mind I choose oak scales to match the blade. The old scales was made of horn, and Beyond repair. There is still some sign og pitting on the blade. If I took more of, I was afraid to ruin the markings. Anyway the blade was ready fore honing, and I took the first shave this morning! What a shave! The blade is almost full wedge, and completely silent.

The black wood on the scales is Bog Oak, with seam to fit the knifes age.

This one will go into my rotation! The price was only 9$! A great find!
