    Thanks guys, I appreciate the compliments.

    As for the design, I just traced the blade, and drew around it. You can see I originally wrongly-estimated where the pivote pin hole was (it's suprisingly far back on the tail area). I really did not give too much tought on the 'open' look, but I think it looks better open when the scales are flipped back (in the shaving position), but best when the blade is closed.

    Thanks again Ilija for letting me in on the blade (you are almost up to 5K posts!! ). A king cutter would be a nice blade to design around too.

    I am usually more 'traditionalist' too, however, this was more of a concept I had kicking around my mind. Along with 'minimalizing' the scale coverage, I read a posting on here about best finger gripping in the scales, that has me thinking too.

    I need to tackle a Friodur 8/8.....I have some mammoth ivory-bark and some ideas for that one. I hope I can find the energy and time.
