    I don't know, but what i do know is that neatsfoot oil and horn come from the same animal.

    I don't know what animal mineral oil comes from.

    Thought this information should make the front page as everybody always wants to use the mineral oil where neatsfoot (not neatsfoot compound (which is Spanish for "1 part neatsfoot, 9 parts other")) is the "proper" thing.

    Local feed barns for neatsfoot oil here, works a treat I soak all horn items for a week at least when I get them
    Saved,
    to shave another day.

    Neatsfoot works wonders on baseball gloves and leather bike saddles too
