Thanked: 170For what it's worth, I like CA for scales and brushes I do for other people. It's fool proof, and never needs upkeep. For my own use, I prefer oil - it needs maintainence, but has a "soft" finish that I like.

Thanked: 1936For me, the fumes truly aren't worth it. I have to admit, it is a super durable finish & looks awesome. When Glen brought up using it a few years ago, I had to try it on a few rescales. I've used it on a knife handle made of black palm for a customer too. My eyes are very sensitive to fumes, so I'm one who sticks with the oils & lacquers mostly now. I'm not going to say never as CA really works well as you have found.

IMO CA is one of the best ways to finish wood. Looks great, take a mirror shine or satin finish... If you mess it up sand it down, as more and it's like it never happend. Hard as a rock, repels water and for all intensive purposes it stabilizes dry hard wood.
