Default Source for bone and horn blanks for scales?

I am sure I have finished the entire internet,

The "How To" sticky doesn't help.

I have found tons of exotic wood blanks in sizes appropriate for scales, but I want blonde horn, buffalo and bone blanks to work with. Surely my search phrases are inefficient. The auction sites, google, and vendor sites all come up empty,

Where can I find these materials in appropriate sizes? Or, what search phrases should I be using?

Thanks.. I've scoured both of those sources... I must not be search correctly on eBay.. I get little to nothing to choose from. Masecraft has mostly smaller sizes.. Is it hit or miss or do they typically have a better inventory?

Masecraft has the sizes required for scales..if they're not listed you can contact them for the size you need. But for horn I've always found the size listed.

How'd you get on with your sources, Mike? And are there any issues with importing bone horn, etc into the US? In New Zealand they're really strict about that kind of thing, not sure we'd get away with it.

Fortunately I've found a great source of bone out in the country here. I won't say exactly how or where, but our beef industry is big. I've just started experimenting and love working with bone. The biggest hassle is treating it before you can start working with it - and because I don't like to use chemicals that might affect the integrity of the bone, this means a lot of natural sun bleaching.

Here's my first effort of bone scales, with stained horn spacer. They're intended for a J Allen & Sons part wedge I'm working on.

appropriate sized pieces are hard to come by but I have found a few.

I'm also really into the bone and want to try dying and aging it. This is my most recent attempt..

Wade & Butchers Celebrated, that had a set of unappealing and cracked stag scales. I reused the original lead wedge.
