I also know what you mean. My problem is that I get impatient to shave with mine and end up honing and using them before they're cleaned up properly. I finally get sick of looking at manky old razors and get back into them again, but I usually lose my edge in the process. Oh well.

So maybe I'm biased, and ignorant, but I've never been too concerned with a little marking here and there. But it's a personal thing.

BTW, your photo is better than any I could ever come up with...
