Which profile looks the best to you?
Ignoring the amount of work ect ect. For fun, which of the following do you like the best? I would put a bit more of an even smile than what is in the images.
The first #1 one is the original then each image after is more and more modification to the blade #'s 2 thru 5 going down.
"The blade must always be respected"

3 and 4 look scared to me. The finger notch is a bit narrow. I like 5

Thanked: 13249What is the overall length of the Blade to start with, and what are the dimensions going to be after the Mods..
That spine wear at the point is going to be an issue while honing, I would try a bevel set like recommended before any restore to see where you are starting from first, then let the razor tell you what direction to take..
To have a plan starting out is great but to "Force" a razor into a geometry situation it doesn't likeis going to be a issue with honing every single time

I like the looks of #2 and #5. Wether it's feasible or not is to be seen. Best of luck, very interested to see how it turns out.
The older I get the more I realize how little I actually know.

View #2 is similar in fact to one of the factory profiles. They made it with a square point.
I would not change the heel. Those originally had a straight edge and honing was simple.

If I were to do something like this I think I would be looking for ballance between the heel and toe, ie as similar a curve as possible at both ends so I guess the last one is the closest to that.

Thanked: 1184I know it's not one of the choices but, I would pull that spine back some and leave the heel alone. Make a gentle s on the toe to match the back.
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

I like to look of number 5, almost axe like.
