That turned out absolutely beautiful!
Thanks for sharing the journey with us,
I know I picked up more than a thing or two along the way.

Congratulations on the beautiful restore and the acquisition of your holy grail. Thanks for the awesome documenting of the restoration for our pleasure and education.
Perfect fit on those inlays. I would love to be able to be able to make a find like that and have the skills to restore to that level! Great job!
Great work! And thanks for that video. You do good work.
Great work 10 Pups! Thanks for documenting it all the way through and making it a superb thread.
Your effort throughout the restoration is very much appreciated and the reward is there for all to see well done, if you had to put a labour costing to the razor you probably would be out of pocket if you sold, but very well done once again and I've enjoyed the journey.
Whoa! That really finished up beautifully Pups! I am amazed at how you can get those 'tired old hands' to do such delicate and precise work... :roflmao
Can't wait to see it up close and hold it in my 'tired old hands'....;)
Top Notch!

Well thanks guys, it's been fun. I posted a few of these Ducks in new scales and got a lot of questions so I figured this one would answer some of those and more. I am sure I don't know it all and if anybody ever has any suggestions or comments to add , they are more than welcome. That's how I learned in SRP what I needed to know in order to do this and I thank all of you that contributed to that. It works both ways like the red wedge was suggested by Colorado and after very little thought I made one. I had some left over from the Goldedge I did, that's how bright it is. It doesn't stand out in the pictures but it does look cool in real light. Not glaring red but like most blood red you don't really want to see it THAT much. More Duck restores coming soon but they will be more of the "before and after" style threads. :<0)
And Celtic you are right. This thread is sort of a tribute to those who do restore razors for you. It has to be a labor of love because your not going to get rich doing it. It takes a lot of time and patience even if you have all of the tools to do it right. And thanks again to them for showing us how to do it ourselves.
Nice job 10Pups. I'm less intimidated by bolsters now.
While I may not be up for it currently, I think I will tackle a pair in the distant future.
Thanks for the detailed walk through!
