Thread: Put grease on the pivot?

I am just about to pin my first re-scaled razor and am wondering if anyone puts grease or vaseline on the pivot before pinning the razor back together?

I'd avoid it personally. once you get a little dust on it you end up with a grinding paste.

I'd be inclined to use nylon bushes, you can make them from the hobby nuts and bolts made of nylon.

I think the nylon is a much better way to go if you insist on "pampering" the joint. Most folks just use brass washers. Quite a few old razors I've handled didn't appear to ever have washers of any sort - and they made it through many a year.
