Seduced by a cheap price...
Well yeah , I just managed to save this blade but will be more careful in the future !!
It looked real good in the vendors pics (?) and I thought the pitting on the bevel-edge was
just cosmetic, that is, I could weave my "magic" and voila !!....Silly me.
It took a heck of a lot of time and energy to get this to where I can now hone it and shave
with it. A good lesson learnt.
That pit near the heel....

Good to see the razor ruler showing it's face
I am sure it will be worth the effort.Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast

Sure looks easy from your pics!
It is deceptive how EASY it looks to restore a blade back to good shape.
All we see is a few pictures and VIOLA...It's done. EASY PEASY....
Though the ones doing this KNOW it can be a MOTHER!
Nice job! Congrats!!!!

Bongo,
I think most of us have been there done that and well you got the deed done, now you will enjoy the effort more. (I know but I have to keep living in my delusions)
I cannot say the same for this and you may have got something that was harder to get rid of than a bad spot on the blade.
Granted if either are bad enough the tool may not be salvageable....It is just Whisker Whacking
Relax and Enjoy!

For me the problem is knowing when to give up on an edge. But I'm finding that there's rarely a proper time to surrender, it occasionally just takes a bit more time to bring an edge than you feel like investing! Those blades that are too twisted up and mangled are the only ones I've finally decided weren't worth the effort - but - there are a few guys here that could probably make them sing again.
