I was once on an Auto show set up years ago. Got to be the Foreman of that crew because I was the only one who could figure out the metric to American conversion. Always had a calculator in my pouches. I'm good at math, but you can't afford to make mistakes when framing houses. Or setting up multi-million dollar car exhibits
We are an oddity here in the UK. Construction to my knowledge is metric, sipermarkets and most packaged weights are metric.
We measure driving distances in miles, and beer in pints. Milk is in pints and litres on most cartons I think, I still describe it in pints. In the butchers we still buy in lbs and ounces ��
I still measure in feet n inches for a lot but most people generally use cm and m.
