How did the Rattler shave? I'll bet it was a dream?

I bought a razor with alligator skin pattern on the scales a while back. Cleaned them up good and have been looking for the right blade.
I picked up a Dovo 38 recently and have been really impressed with the shaves I get from it. But crappy plastic scales.

I like those alligator scales. Glad you put a nice blade in them.
I like those scales and have wondered before what it would take to make scales with real alligator or other leather...?
Anybody seen them?
Would probably need a backer of some kind?
Probably shave down the backside of the leather?
Maybe use an epoxy on the back for rigidity?
So crazy... it just might work! Hehehe :)
Cleaned up these 3 tonight to get ready for scales. The scales material is what they are leaning on. I will start on those tomorrow. The blades are close but will need a little more work. I have two other razors for the rest of the scales I'm making. Might only do a couple at a time. Too many at once can be a pain.

Nice!!
Me, I've gone to the shop again and made these pairs of bone scales for some of the blades I have ready to fit.

I think you have figured out that I like gun-stock scales for wide blades.
Keep raising the bar!

Those look great Richard.
Here are the ones I just got finished cutting out. Still, need to be drilled and wedges made and hand sanding before the finish coats of Tru-oil. All are 0.085". But, I got a good start on them. Purple Heart, Santos, Bocate, Brazilian Cherry and Tiger woods.
