The bocote scales turned out great. Looks like you finally got the finish you wanted. Great work.

Well done, Jerry. I've thought about doing the same thing with some of the makes I have. Genco box, Wosty box, W&B, Clauss, Torrey. There'd be a few boxes..!
Love the 14 day set. I never thought about finding different engravings from the same manufacturer and making a set, but that is a wicked cool idea. (Plus I have never encountered an Imperial either. I will keep my eye out for them. Maybe it might be something I could trade or give or what have you)
Jerry, you did a great job on a beautiful looking set.
I love the different types of wood.
Pete <:-}
I agree, it's such a great idea! Have similar plans too, but this is such a perfect example..
The reasons can very, but one really cool thing about it is that there are various challenges presented, it makes it an accomplishment to say the least.
The hunt for those blades alone had to be a challenge!.. and that's a fun one.
The work done in restoring them and achieving great success in uniformity of quality, and a great style scheme...
More fun and accomplishment there too! I would be feeling pretty dang good right now.
Can't imagine you would ever sell that set, but that would be an incredible challenge in itself I assume, as "I" could never sell it.
Thanks guys. I have to admit that a couple of them are just slight differences. This is why im still on the look out of others. The the Eagle Razor. I have 3 of them. One has the words improved eagle, anothe has no words, and the third is stamped Germainia cutlery. The extra hollow ground stamped one are different as one has etching on the back of the blade, one doesnt, and one is a round point. I hadnt seen many round point Imperials. Mainly spike points.
I still have one not finished that is different still and will get it in the group soon. I know of atleast 3 others that i dont have that just dont come up for sale very often so some day i will get them. I have a few extras that are the same that are not in the box. I will fix those up to sell in the future.
Yeah, I thought I may have had more Imperials......
One good thing about these sets is if you ever find a super-pristine blade, you can swap it out!
OR make it a 21-day set? :D
So I have these 2 Giesen and Forstoffs.
Some remnants of red in the stamps....

I guess that counts for something?
I hadn't seen the round point Eagle, but I bet it was made. I just haven't seen many round points. Only a couple on the bay. Mainly the spike points. And Tom, The swap-out is what my plan is. Don't think I need to find another box to hold more. 14 was crazy enough! Although...:hmmm: :rofl2:
