Razor stuffs been on hold a bit. Spent the last two days working on this.
It's taken 2 days because yesterday as Ibwas digging post holes I had a three year old apprentice filling them as quick as I was clearing 😂

I know the feeling. But mine is 5yrs old. Still not much help in the way of foward progress.

I guess it was quite humors to the guest but mom said it took awhile to get things going in the right direction.

Here's mine...I finished the scales for my Packwood.
I was able to get away with only six coats of True Oil, lightly sanding with steel wool (0000) between each coat, the last coat sat for 24 hrs. to make sure finish was totally cured, then sanded with steel wool until no shine was apparent, then with 3000 grt. 3M Trizact. Then followed up by hand rubbing with Howards Restor a Shine, and a couple applications of Jubilee kitchen wax.

I hated to replace scales on razors, but if there was significant damage, or a crack/split at the pin area, I'd get Val to replace them, I always tried to stay "traditional", but the thought of a blade dropping out and breaking, or chomping down through the scales and cutting, or the one thing that drives me nuts - blades not centered in the scales properly, quickest was to stupidly kill an edge.Quote:

Only swap it made, was from the ugly cell scales they were crammed and rusted into when I took her from the wilds. [emoji4]

You ain't kiddin, and True Oil brings it out the best. Yeah, at certain angles it looks as if the grain is suspended in the finish in different layers. That's why I like wood so much, it has a beauty only to itself that can never be duplicated or replicated. [emoji6]Quote:

No problem bud. I use that when i paint HD parts and then buff. It does bring a shine before polishing and makes polishing quick and easy.
You are also right if it wasn't cured it would have been useless. Looks great as always.
