Har! It's all half here and half there right now, but soon, I will be furnishing a small room at home with my old barber's chairs and cabinets, complete with display cases of razors, signs, even a barber-pole. Gonna put a record-player in and dig out some old albums. Should be pretty cool as I envision it.
I will post some pics as I get it all going.
I'm happy to hear that you are on your way to completing the life long dream of a great many wet shavers!
Some day, some day... I will have my stylish barbershop bonus-room with hidden speak-easy lounge entrance behind one of the mirrors...
Oh yes it will be glorious, I had to "one up" you with the speak-easy Tom, because seeing all the amazing razors is hurting my fragile RAD ego.. :) hehehe lol
Oh, BTW, the Torpedo shaved like a dream with just a good stropping.
Finished cleaning up the blade, collars, and scales to the W&B.
All done by hand, no power equipment. The only things used were, Never Dull, steel wool ( 1 1/2 pads 000 ), Emory compound, and Cr/Ox.
Some of the tiny repairs to the scales didn't hold, so I left them for character, and to better fit with the condition of the blade.
( nice...but not perfect

The lettering on the blade looks darn good. Different plus it really sets it off.
You know me, outback. I calls em like I see em.
Great 'sympathetic' resto. My favorite stuff!
Only gripe is the black in the etchings is too black.
Once, I could not get some red to show up on black. I found that silver RubNbuff applied and the red after made it work.
On the opposite end, I think a little rub of said silver RubNbuff in those letters on top of the black, and hand buffed-off good, would give it a 'original' type look?
Light application with a q-tip, keep it away from the pitting! Hand buff with a soft towel...
Just thinking.........
Nice gentle recovery Mike.
