You have some real skills with carving that bone. Impressive work on an ambitious project!

Two things today that are related. First the goal, to make a set of different carved bone scales to fit a series of Henckels razors. The basic shape of the scales is to be the same s the originals, but made from bone and having different carving patterns on each. There should be five sets in the end. Today I made a template and cut the first set on the router, and carved one side. More to come, as well as some other bone scales.

AHA! That looks like the old noggin is cooking up some design! :tu
That looks killer!
I almost sent you some swirly bone ones. Figured I may never get it back, though! :rofl2:
Next time!
So what will you do to the ends? Perhaps some Iris?
BTW, I cannot wait to see this unfold!
I don't know if my friend is 'The Bone Collector' but he's Definitely 'Bad To The Bone'! :y :tu

So I am into this! (Imagine THAT! ;))
Some ideas for this set. Needs to be a 7-dayer, I think!
Some bone scales I mentioned above...Wonder how I may have never seen it again?

Go Get em, Rez! ;)
I have not figured out what to do there. I may just leave them. I am going to carve another set that matches the Bengal. I do want to carve some Iris ends, but not this set. I have a file of carved scale pictures. I need to come up with my other designs too. Feel free to email me pictures of any ideas you might have. I have two sets of broken ivory scales that eventually will get laminated onto G-10 and then carved. Ivory looks like it will have less grain than bone and perhaps may be easier to carve. Time will tell.
