I've found nothing which would adhere to Bakelite.
If you care to send your good scale, I am fairly certain I have a match, Or at least another set for it.

Generous offer Tom.
Eric it looks like that cleaned up pretty quick.
I am packing for three weeks in the salt mine.
Hang-in, Shaun! Lotsa good projects will be going with, I am certain!
The clear takes some off the watercolor.
As it dries a few days, I will lightly steel-wool with fine stuff to dull it more.
Should look old as-done.

G nite Tom
Yes Shaun it sure did cleaned up quick. Thanka Sir be careful as well.
Tom, thanks so much! I will know in the next day or two whether the epoxy is holding -- if not, I'll take you up on your generous offer.
This group really humbles me with its generosity. Do any of you know someone who might like a shave-ready 5/8 Solingen razor? I have a couple of these that are in pretty nice shape, cleaned up and honed to 30K on a Shaptonn glass stone, but I don't keep them in the rotation because I prefer a heavier blade. I've offered them to friends locally, but they don't want to do straight-razor shaving.
So if you know someone who'd use one, let me know and I'll happily ship it off to you.
Jmabuse you can always send them in for the monthly give away. We really dont have a PIF area so the donation for the give away would be the spot. Of course they are your razors just a suggestion.
Another place to deal with those is in the classifieds. You can put them up for a nominal fee. Enough to cover you costs and postage. A lot of people used to put starter razors in the classifieds, and a lot of people still check there for good beginner razors.
Couldn't get to work today as got stuck in the snow and impossible to make it out, no choice but had to call it off; eventually I dug the car out (had a good driving instructor) and slowly made my way back home (don't ask how). As nothing else to do, I finished the project, a French style mid 1820's at its highest I could say (I might be wrong). I have mixed feelings whether should I put a silver shield or not. Anyhow, here it is, not too bad for 4 days on/off work
