Finally it Friday for me so I went at setting the bevel on this razor. Used pic from before. After 3.5 hrs I finally got to some good steal to where the chipping stopped. PITA. Took it up to the 12K. Now its popping hairs at tip and middle but not the heal. Guess its back to the lower grits again. I was hoping to knock this one out and get to a couple others I had needed to put on the finisher but I guess not tonight.
Lots of great work being done here. Thanks to all for showing what your working on.

Lost the slight smile and had to work over the stabilizer again. Hope to get it done tomorrow.

Tooth aches are awful Tom. Hope you are on the mend soon enough.
Had all 28 of mine knocked out, 25 made it back, hehehe. Got some titanium rebar added to give some jaw strength around all the breaks,,,many years ago now, this X-ray copy was still in the tool box. .

That's pretty cool that both an Elliot and a Greaves had the same logo along the spine Tuzi.
Both have the same near Spanish point as well.
Like I said, this one is near wedge and is going to be a bitch to hone, I see it now....

Hard to tell from the photo, but looks like you could move the corner of the heel forward and take the stabilizer out of play.
If you are riding on the stabilizer, it can keep the heel half of the edge off the stone.
Here is a photo from a recent post on correcting a heel. The red is the corrected arc and corner of the edge, compared to the green arrow, where the edge was currently ending, well into the stabilizer.
You can mark a new arc, with a coin and a sharpie.
