    Default Torrey Story

So I picked up a cheap Torrey from ebay, and as I began sanding, I noticed there was a crack in the edge. Luckily, it wasn't too far into the heel, so I ground it out in a thumb-notch sort of manner. I'm happy with how this one turned out, especially the peening! Can't tell very well in the photos, but the pins are nice and shiny, and seem pretty even to my eyes.

After a moment or two of sanding, a wild crack appears!

Looks good to me, if it was me I probably would have said a few words that can't be repeated here, then hopefully I would have calmed down enough to do what you did.
