    Just watch a Lynn honing video our a video from Glen, follow their advise and it should take no more than one honing session to get rid of that ding.

    This is what you need since you have a Norton 4/8k. If you decide to nice to the 12k I would recommend stropping before and after it

    Pro honing doesnt take a month. It should be much quicker than that.

    Pick a honemeister, send a PM, and ask what his turnaround time is right now. I'll bet you can find someone that's not backed up 4 weeks. Looking at that photo, since it's not a smiling blade it's a pretty easy fix on a hone, but if you're not comfortable doing it, send some PMs out.

    I'd go right to the 1K or even 220 but if you want to try 4K and then back up if necessary that'll work as well - also I'd use a layer of electrical tape but that's just my general habit.
