Thanked: 24I think that the point here is that you made points with the little lady. To top it off you have a nicely scaled razor. Well done on both accounts. But honestly, what other method would you use to make them than by hand? Surely a guy wouldn't use some noisy electric saw dust making thingy for anything other than industrial purposes. Right? Enjoy your handy work.

I really appreciate all your inputs!!! I do! This razor hobby has been a cool
trip! I have so many projects and no time and no space and no nice tools since i live in apt i have to improvise for everything! Lol for instance the peens are the nail style... Thats why they look like bigger washers! Its easier to use these without a vise... I meant to make them squarish since the ends were going to square... Still. Bit thicker than i intended... The finish was intended to shiny but while applying the shellac my wife and i liked the not so shinny look so we kept it...Thanks again for your comments gents! Next step honing and trying this bad boy!
Happy shaving!!!

i like them! my god i want to make my own scales!
i NEED to know the blade sanding and buffing (start grit to end buff progression) by hand....if anyone can pm me on this, that would be gold!
another thing, pinning how to? vs those micro fasteners, i think i want to first try micros and learn how to pin on scrap.
anyone?

All that info is readily available in this forum... Their is a huge compilation of how to and products and were to get them ... Go under maintenance and repair/workshop and there is a sticky post with how to...
I use micro mesh products... On the blade i go from 280 grit to 10,000 grit and then some mothers polish compound... Thats for mirror finish which i rarely do... Scales i do 80 grit to shape... 150 grit, 220, 440 grit... Then i use shelac for finishing ... Coat, sand with 00 and coat again about 5 times... Then i go with high grits to give it some high gloss look

Here are some good links for razor restoration (carefull, it's one hell of a rabbit hole).
