I would use a darker material for the wedge, maybe a black horn or a dark timber if that is an option. From the materials listed in your post I would pick the aluminimum for a some contrast.

Thanked: 0I like the look of the honey horn. For the wedge I would go with something that is going to contrast with the color of the honey horn. That way it pops out to the eye. Maybe aluminum.

Gorgeous work Dennis, also really like the blonde horn, it's a nice change-up from the black! Also, think it works well with the frameback.
Lately, I've been really liking the look of the frameback, ever since I stumbled on one in the Classifieds here, a TI frameback, shave was so nice it inspired me on that thread vintage vs new steel.
The W&B frameback, you've really brought it back to life, and what a great looking monster, 7/8 frameback. I know a lot prefer the patina look, and that's fine, I prefer a nice, new looking blade with a nice finish and the blade looks awesome.
I've never seen a 7/8 W&B frameback before, and when I first saw it, thought it was a faux frameback, then when you posted the pics of the polished blade, wow, you can really see the blade in the slot! It just looks great all around, 7/8 frameback, obviously hollow ground, when you get those blonde horn scales on I think you'll have a center piece for your collection.
The framebacks and the concave blades I'm finding really interesting and unique now.
Sheesh, when you see the nice blade that you've done there, it really makes sense to me all over again that there's simply some things that transcend the dollar value of any object, and this is one of the reasons I think many of us like collecting blades so much and never get tired of it.
Already know it's going to look fantastic when it's complete, but still can't wait to see it!
Congrats, great work!
edited to add: darn, copper wedge, brilliant touch!! A darker brass for the middle maybe??Last edited by Phrank; 02-13-2014 at 03:22 AM.

Going to try black horn core I think phrank, thanks for the feedback, honestly all I did was wet sand it for 30 minutes with 2k grit wet dry using oil to get that finish, it was dirty more than anything....can still see the grind lines in it.
