Thanked: 45I love all of these videos that you've posted. You need to know that you're doing all of us a huge favor capturing his process. It take a tremendous amount of talent, ingenuity, and practice to make such beautiful razors. Your videos are as close as a lot of us will ever come to looking over Lido's shoulder in his shop. I have learned a ton from watching them and have been a loyal viewer from the very first one.
Now if you could only get one of the Mastro making knives...Let me know if you need any help with shaving, honing, etc.

Thank you PapaTony,
you appreciation means a lot to me. It takes a lot of time and efforts in order to make those videos, not just shooting them but also editing and rendering them. Your appreciation certainly is encouraging to me to make more. And I wish you all to personal watch all that by standing just behind Mastro Livi's shoulders. After all, he always welcomes everyone to his workshop and I know meeting Mastro Livi is a remarkable experience for anyone interested in straight razors and wet shaving.
I will certainly ask Mastro Livi to see whether he will let me shoot a video about him making a knife. I guess it will be as interesting as the making of a straight razor. Stay tuned! The RazorGuy - StraightRazorChannel on Youtube and Google+

Thanked: 45I've done a lot of shooting and editing in my time (grad school for film) and I know how demanding it can be! Your work has brought us something really special. As a knifemaker and razor maker myself, there is so much to learn from watching these videos beyond technique. I'm sure that I'm not the only one who has marveled at some of the machines in Mastro Livi's workshop and the ease with which he's able to produce such an amazing finished product. Really, we could devote an entire thread solely to his heat treatment process!
I can only hope to come meet you and the Mastro some day. I think that I am one of many. Again, thank you so much for bringing us the behind-the-scenes on a living master.Let me know if you need any help with shaving, honing, etc.
