    Default Worst Day Ever!

So today, my razor slipped out of my hand and into the sink smoking everything that can damage it along the way. So many four letter words came from my mouth I would have been ashamed had I not felt fully justified. Whoever said "never catch a falling razor" needs a smack in the face. I would much rather pay my insurance copay for stitches than see my baby in the shape she's in. I'll post some pics so any honemeisters out there who think they can save her, please let me know. I'd be very appreciative.

That is quite a bummer, but doesn't look too far gone. I had a similar experience hitting the tip of my Clauss against the faucet. I invented some new four letter words to yell.

Good to see a fellow Minnesotan, hope it fixes up well.

    Good luck!

It happens to us all, so far just once for me.

Sure she will fix up ok… time to enjoy another while she's away….

Contact any of the honers in the classified's and send them a PM. ANy pro honer worth their salt can fix that as long as there are no cracks...just chips.

If you want to learn how to hone it out yourself, contact Randydance - he is in St. Paul, and the mentor for our area for honing. He is a great guy, and more than willing to help newbies. Actually, I need to see him again about honing smiles - PM me if you are interested - perhaps we could go over to his place together.

This razor is definitely salvageable. I would recommend grinding off the damage to the toe and the other ding and then re-establish the bevel and hone it back up. If you attempt to do this on a hone, start off with some taping as it will take a little time, even on a 220 grit to get the ding out.

    Have fun.
