I didn't know they did this: wedgless antique scales.
I bought an old WB off eBay and it had broken horn scales. I cut the pins in it thinking that I might save the double shouldered domed washers and in taking a closer look I realized there was no wedge. The scales had been cut at the end to form a wedge without additional material.
How common is this? Anyone use this method on new scales?
