Personally I prefer more of a lustre than a high gloss finish, so some final polishing compound over a finishing oil is my preferred method. You don't need liners - except for decoration if you want.

Finally, think very hard before inscribing any lyrics - especially anything by John Farnham. If done properly the razor will outlive you and I'm sure you wouldn't want to leave him as a legacy.
    lol.

I must admit, his music isn't the type I listen to regularly, but he has done heaps for charity which I respect very much, and seems to be avery decent fellow, the type who would fit in with the SRP crowd, plus I do like a number of his songs even if I hardly listen to them. He's a gentleman, so to speak. The song "you're the voice" is somewhat iconic, but I really like men at work - land down-under - vegemite sandwich line, as I think is sums up Aussies well... a bit of fun, dont take things too seriously, its all about having a laugh.

But I do hear what you are saying, which is why I was leaving that to last and leaning towards not engraving.

I am not after a shiny finish, I would prefer an oiled wood look rather than anything glossy. That way I think the wood grain /characteristic shows itself better.

Actually, If I really think about it, the most Aussie thing would be to leave the project half-finished, as it's hit beer-o'clock and everyone's headed to the pub lol

You might be able to do a boomerang shape, if the blade sat across the hollow of the v then the platypus might be a ble to be seen.
I am not sure how practical it would be in use though.
Initially i was going to sugest a pair of thongs (flip flops/ jandals) but they would definately get in the way.

    Thanks Ed,

I like both thoughts, but the boomerang idea would certainly be the most feasible.
